    This cemetery was repaired in 1967 as a Centennial Project. All the stones that were in good shape were set up in two rows in a concrete base. There is a large field stone in the middle. This stone has a plaque on it. Since 1967 many stones have been broken off and the pieces have been piled around the large field stone. Two of the stones done in 1967 have disappeared.

The cemetery is situated just behind the Post Office in Springfield, in an open lot opposite Nelson Street and adjoining Wellington Street, or Elgin Road 49.
The plaque on the stone reads as follows:
In honour of the first white settlers / in South Dorchester / Isaac WILLIS and wife Flora McLACHLAN / 1798 – 1862 1803 – 1872 / settled here in 1823 / erected by the descendants of / their eldest son / Robert Barwick WILLIS 1822 – 1907The two lost stones had the following inscriptions:
