[Newspaper obituaries and the death registration for Sylvenus YOUNG, who was born 20 June 1828 and died at Port Bruce, 14 March 1912, indicate that he was buried at the Dunboyne Cemetery, probably next to his wife Eliza NICKERSON LOUCKS YOUNG. No monument was ever erected for him – BCJ]

The Aylmer Express records on March 4, 1895 “The smallpox is conquered at last.  Miss Corner is quite convalescent again and the little one is out of danger. The family have the sympathy of the neighbourhood over the loss of their little one.”

“The public school at Copenhagen will opened up again on Monday next, the smallpox scare being considered practically over in that neighborhood. There is no danger of any further outbreak of this disease and there is no case in the township needing medical treatment, Dr. McLay having been released yesterday. The roads are all open, the stage is on its regular route and business is going on as usual. Mr. Corner’s youngest child, about 2 ½ years old died on Sunday last. She was apparently getting along all right, and was up and around the house, but caught cold, which settled on her lungs.”

[Note: Thomas DOOLITTLE’s second wife, Elizabeth ( BLACKSTOCK ) ( DOOLITTLE ) ROBBINS / ROBINS died 26 March 1930 at Aylmer, Ontario. Her death registration indicates that she was buried here at the Dunboyne Cemetery. Elizabeth’s second husband, Walter ROBBINS / ROBINS is also buried here at the Dunboyne Cemetery- See #67 below. Walter DOOLITTLE, son of Thomas and Elizabeth died 25 July 1938. His Aylmer Express obituary indicates that he also is buried here at the Dunboyne Cemetery. No monuments exist for Elizabeth or Walter – BCJ]
