(Note: The obituary for Susan COHOON, the mother of Emerson above, is given in the Aylmer Express, Aug. 22, 1907. She is given as having died “Tuesday last” which would be August 13. She was in her 83rd year and would have been born in 1825. She was buried at the Richmond Cemetery but no monument exists. Her husband, Stephen COHOON, was born Dec. 14, 1820 in Queens County, Nova Scotia and died at Malahide Twp., 26 Feb. 1900 at age 79. No monument has been found for him either. – J.M., Feb., 2004)
